The Croatia national football team, the Vatreni (The Blazers), is governed by the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) and competes in UEFA. The team plays home matches at the Stadion Maksimir in Zagreb and is recognised by their distinctive red and white chequered kit.

Despite being a small nation with under four million people, Croatia has achieved remarkable results on the world stage: finishing third at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in their debut, reaching the final at Russia 2018 (finishing runners-up), and finishing third again at Qatar 2022.
