Paraguay

The Paraguay national football team, La Albirroja, is governed by the Paraguayan Football Association (APF) and competes in CONMEBOL. The team plays home matches at the Estadio Defensores del Chaco in Asunción and wears red and white stripes.

Paraguay has qualified for eight FIFA World Cups, reaching the quarter-finals in 1958, 2010. They won the Copa América in 1953 and 1979. The team is renowned for its defensive solidity and strong goalkeeping tradition. Paraguay has punched above its weight consistently in South American football.
