About Portugal

The Portugal national football team, A Seleção, is governed by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) and competes in UEFA. The team plays home matches at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon and wears red and green.

Portugal won their first major international title at UEFA Euro 2016 in France, defeating the host nation in the final. They also won the inaugural UEFA Nations League in 2019. Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal's all-time leading scorer and one of the greatest players in history, has been the team's defining figure since 2003. Portugal finished third at the 1966 FIFA World Cup and reached the semi-finals in 2006.
